Technical Writing

I have 10+ years in technical writing roles spanning 5 technology companies: IBM, Tekelec, Inc., Oracle, Extreme Networks and Intuit. I have progressed my way from an entry-level technical writer to my current position as Lead Technical Writer.

These roles were all part of a structured DITA, version control, and XML environment. I have mastered FrameMaker, oXygen, JIRA, Vasont, and SDL Tridion Docs (Publication Manager). Additional SDLC tools used include GitHub, Aha!, Confluence and SharePoint.

Deliverables I’ve maintained include release notes, user guides, hardware installation guides, command references, API developer guides, quick references, video scripts and more.

Copy Editing

I’ve been able to parlay my writing and editing skills into occasional paid work as a manuscript editor. My most recent edits include To Live Woke: Thoughts to Carry in Our Struggle to Save the Soul of America (2020) and Howl of the Wolf (2012) by Dr. Rupert Nacoste

Content Strategy

As a Senior Content Strategist at Verizon, I provide content support for the Account and Assisted experiences. This includes login and registration pages, the Verizon Privacy Dashboard, and Transfer Your Service.

I identify and implement improvements to existing content across the digital ecosystem, including messaging strategies, best practices, and processes.

My main responsibilities include writing and editing UX copy, enrollment and transactional flows, notifications, and error messages.

Visual Design

I have created and iterated several wireframes and prototypes in Adobe XD and Figma. I’m also familiar with Invision, Figma and Sketch.

I thoroughly enjoy taking projects from ideation to delivery, including building website and portfolio designs.
